Traffic Management & TAS Plans in Alberta
Traffic Management
Planning and compliance handled — so your project starts right and stays on track.
Your Project, Covered
Traffic control on construction and infrastructure projects starts long before a flagger steps on site. TrafficIQ handles the full planning and documentation phase — site assessment, regulatory compliance, permit coordination, and on-site management — so your project is covered from day one.
How It Works
A straightforward process, built around your project.
Site Assessment
We visit the site and evaluate traffic volumes, speed zones, sight lines, pedestrian exposure, and the nature of the work. Every plan is built around actual conditions, not a template.
TAS / TMP Development
We produce TAS (Alberta) or TMP (BC) documentation to provincial specifications, meeting the standards set by each province's Ministry of Transportation.
Permit Assistance
We assist with permit applications to the relevant municipal or provincial authority, making sure all required approvals are in place before work begins.
On-Site Management
Once work starts, we manage the traffic control setup throughout the project, coordinating personnel, adjusting to site conditions, and maintaining compliance for the duration.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a TAS and a TMP?
TAS (Traffic Accommodation Strategy) is the Alberta version, developed to Alberta Transportation's spec. TMP (Traffic Management Plan) is the BC equivalent, developed to BC MoTI's standards. Both serve the same purpose: documenting how traffic will be safely managed around your work zone, just under different provincial frameworks.
Do you handle the permit applications too, or just the paperwork?
We assist with the permit application process itself, coordinating directly with the relevant municipal or provincial authority so you're not stuck figuring out who to call or what's required.
How far in advance should I book traffic management planning?
The earlier the better, especially if permits are involved. Approval timelines depend on the municipality or province, so reach out as soon as you have a project scope, even if dates aren't locked yet.
What happens if site conditions change mid-project?
We update the documentation to reflect the new scope or conditions. Traffic control plans aren't static; they're built to adjust as your project does.
